Renault is preparing an update for his best selling model kwid. Renault kwid was launched in September 2015. Another powerful 68 HP 1.0 liter model was added in August 2016.
Apart from this, the kwid 1.0 AMT was introduced in India line-up. However, except for some special edition versions such as kwid Climber and the Superhero version, Quid has not yet received any major updates.
The company is now readying a major update to the Kwid – at least as far as equipment goes. First up, the top-spec Kwid RXT (O) will come with a reverse camera. This feature will be available on both 800cc and 1.0-litre engine options. Additionally, the car will come with a rear-centre armrest, a 12V power outlet and ELR seatbelts for the rear passengers.
Renault is likely to offer some additional features on a touchscreen infotainment system and mid-speck RXL trim, which were previously only available on top-speeds RX version. The Quid RXT version is being dropped completely.
Renault will introduce the updated Kwid in our market in the coming weeks. Additionally, the Kwid AMT will now come with a creep function, which helps driving while on inclines or at slow speeds.
Notably, the Kwid was the only hatchback in its segment to offer a touchscreen infotainment system at launch. The new reverse camera gives the Kwid another segment-first feature, since its key rivals, the Alto (800 and K10) and even the Tata Tiago, don’t have this feature as standard.
