The last minute technical problem has delayed the unprecedented flight of NASA’s sun.
With Parker’s solar investigation, keeping the Delta IV (Four) rockets in Cape Canaveral in Florida, Saturday’s launch countdown was stopped with only one minute, 55 seconds remaining. It followed earlier trouble in the countdown.
NASA says it will try again on Sunday
Once upon a time, Parker Investigations will venture closer to our star than any other spacecraft. Due to rocket issues, the mission of $ 1.5 million is already a week late.
Thousands of spectators gathered in the mid-night to witness the launch, including the University of Chicago astronomers for which the space shuttle was named. Eugene Parker predicted the existence of solar wind 60 years ago. He is now 91 and is eager to see the solar investigation.
