ROBOT CHEETAH

The Robot cheetah built by engineers which can now leap and gallop across rough terrain, climb a staircase littered with debris, and quickly recover its balance when suddenly yanked or shoved.

Described as “dark locomotion”,90pound  robot cheetah  intentionally designed to do all this without trusting cameras or any external equipment sensors.

RESEARCHERS SAID THAT THE DESIGN CAN USED FOR EXPLORING DISASTERS ZONE. OTHER USES ARE TO DETECT OTHER DANGEROUS OR INACCESSIBLE ENVIRONMENT AND POWER PNT INSPECTION.

THERE ARE SO MANY UNEXPECTED BEHAVIOURS OF THE ROBOTS SHOULD BE ABLE TO HANDLE WITHOUT RELYING TOO MUCH ON VISION

Said Sangbae Kim, Associate Professor and Robot’s Design at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in Boston.

‘Vision noise can be a bit wrong, and sometimes available, and if you rely heavily on sight, then your robot’s position is very accurate and will eventually slow down. In this way, it can handle unexpected obstacles while moving forward fast, “Kim said.

Cheetah 3 “Feels” using Namely two new algorithms through its new surroundings – a contact recognition algorithm and model-estimated control algorithm.

While the contact recognition algorithm helps the robot to take action on the ground to switch the swing from the air in order to determine the best time for a given foot, the model-predicted control algorithm predicts that a given foot After implementing that apply force on how much force one step should be.

These algorithms are designed to make these calculations for each stage of 50 milliseconds, or 20 times per second.
