Microsoft India has launched Thursday for its Free Online Courses for Indian students. It will be based on online courses in cloud computing. It also focus on data protection regulation, security and complexes.

Right now, the application called ‘Student’ App of Bangalore has won the Microsoft Imagine Cup’s Big Data Award. In order to fight counterfeit medicine, an app has won a special award from a team of Indian students from Bangalore, at the annual Microsoft Imagine Cup World Championships held in Redmond, the headquarters of Technical Giant in America.

They announced on Wednesday that Team Drugsoft won the award under the Big Data category from Bangalore’s RV College of Engineering. As a top winner, Team Smart Arm received a cash prize of $ 85,000 (about 5 lakhs) and $ 50,000 (Approximately Rs 34 lakh) got Izoor grant. The company said in a statement that they have a consultation session with Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella.

Team Drugseph, one of the three student teams representing India in the competition, got a prize money of $ 15,000 (about Rs.10 lakhs).

This online course has been done with Microsoft’s Learning partner myLaw. The two-phase online courses enable students, businesses and legal professionals to understand data protection, the basics of European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), security around the cloud and best practices, the company said in a statement.
