Here’s How Dual-SIM Functionality Will Work on iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, and iPhone XR

Apple unveiled the iPhone Xs, iPhone Xs Max and cheaper iPhone XR in the apple park campus in California on Wednesday. The latest and greatest Apple E12 Bionic SOC offers an advanced camera, better face ID technology and more colour options from Apple’s bandwagon. However, in classic Apple fashion, there was no announcement about the speed of RAM and CPU clock.

The handset has made website Geekbench its own benchmarking method, where they are listed with single-core scores, multi-core scores, RAM and other details.

Last night the Apple program introduced dual-SIM functionality on the iPhone model, in which users have been roaming in markets like China and India for many years. With two sims available to them, iPhone Xs, iPhone X Max, and iPhone XR users will be able to use two numbers at the same time.

We have seen Anti-Duplicate SIM setup in Android phones for many years, except for China, Hong Kong and Macau, there will be no secondary SIM slot in the new iPhone X and iPhone XR models.

Instead, three new models will adopt the ESIM standard, which allows telecommunication operators to remotely install another SIM by pressing the user’s credentials on the device. Here’s how the dual SIM function will work on the new iPhone model.

iPhone XS Max

First of all, two new SIM functionality will not be available on one of the three new iPhones outside the box. Apple will later be able to with a software update later this year. An ESM is sold on the motherboard of each phone, so there is no hardware change required for other SIM work. In India, Airtel and Reliance Jio still support ESIM, other operators are expected to join them in the future.

To set up a secondary SIM, all you need to do is follow these steps:

1. Under Settings, go to Cellular, and tap Add Cellular Plan

2. Your telecommunications operator must have provided you with a QR code. Just scan it, and all the necessary settings will be downloaded to your phone.
After this, you may be asked to enter a confirmation code to enable the ESIM. Just enter the number provided by the operator
