After the revealed news of FACEBOOK, that it stores user data, there is a noise in the world. Regarding the personal data storage policy of FB, people are reacting in different ways. Some have deleted their accounts and some are going to do that. It shows that people are very much sensitive for their privacy and they should be. The data storage policy of FB has lead to many consequences which we are going to discuss in this article.


  • Senate Judiciary Committee has invited the CEOs of Google, Facebook and Twitter to testify on privacy

As all the people are active regarding their privacy. So they want to hear from the social media giants. Regarding this issue Senate Judiciary has invited the three CEOs. The CEOs of respective social media networks on April 10th. Judiciary committee has invited them to testify on data privacy procedures.

Judiciary has representatives to question the three social media giants in respect of handling Russian misinformation in the 2016 US elections. Chuck Grassley, the chairman of Judiciary Committee has invited Zuckerberg (CEO of FB), Sundar Pichai (CEO of Google) and Jack Dorsey (CEO of Twitter) to answer before the whole panel.

  • Limited Duration to Accept Requests

If you have left any friend request for too long, you may be unable to confirm or delete it. It will expire automatically. There is a time of 14 days to take a decision. After the 14 days, a request will expire automatically and you will not see it anymore. However, it is not applied yet for everyone. It is appearing to a subset of users only. As your information increase on FB, FB has to show it to you. Gradually, it becomes a very large database to hold. Decreasing some information will make it easier for them to manage.

  • Farhan Akhtar Deleted His Facebook Account

Bollywood Actor-director, Farhan Akhtar announced that he has deleted his FB account permanently. however he has not given any reason for this decision but he only said that he does not like Facebook. He has informed that his FB page FarhanAkhtarLive is still active. Farhan Akhtar has taken this move after the FACEBOOK’s  Cambridge Analytica scandal has come to light.

“Good morning. This is to inform you all that I have permanently deleted my personal Facebook account. However, the FB page FarhanAkhtarLive is still active,” Farhan posted on Twitter.

Earlier, Elon Musk, a billionaire entrepreneur also deleted FB pages. He said, “It’s not a political statement and I didn’t do this because someone dared me to do it. Just don’t like Facebook. Gives me the willies. Sorry,”

  • Anand Mahindra Invites Indian Startups to make a Social Network

After the FB’s data scandal, everyone is now active. Many are waiting for any opportunity. Here Anand Mahindra has found an opportunity. When FB is facing a lot of criticism, Mahindra invites people from Indian origin to start a new social network.

Anand Mahindra, a billionaire, wrote on twitter that he is willing to make the country’s own social network which is “widely owned, proffessionally managed and willingly regulated”. “I’d like to see if I can assist with seed capital,” the 62-year-old Mahindra Group Chairman added.
