FACEBOOK’s user data collecting policy has created a noise among the users. Everyone is in shock when they come to know about this. Its happening with the people who use android devices. The privacy is of utmost importance for everyone and it is getting all the call and sms details of the users.

It has been done only when the user grants the permission for accessing his stored data. When user grants the access, it uses this information to help the users to find their contacts on the App by using their contact number.

FACEBOOK has admitted that its true that it is getting the user’s personal information but only when the user opts for this feature. This data is used to improve the friend recommendation algorithm. They further added that FB does not collect user’s call and sms information until the user allow them.

“Call and text history logging is part of an opt-in feature for people using Messenger. While we receive certain permissions from Android, uploading this information has always been opt-in only,” They said. “You may have seen some recent reports that Facebook has been logging people’s call and SMS (text) history without their permission.
